Person’s Name in Logo Design
In designing a logo, the designer has to consider various things and aspects in order to come up with a good one. The purpose of the logo is important to know. Is it to be created for an organization, business, product, or for a particular service being offered by an entity? In this modern time, it is noticeable that many establishments, products, and companies are named after people.
Take a look at some of these famous brands: Armani, Boeing, Bulgari, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, McAfee, Pfizer, Versace, and The Walt Disney Company among many others. These names are all known worldwide. One thing common with these names is that they are all named after people, whether the owner of the business, the discoverer, or just a recognition for a specific person. Also, these businesses made a unique signature as far as their logos are concerned. Sometimes, it is the logo that can make a product or business be remembered and patronized by the consumers or clients. Therefore, it is important to have a logo that will catch everybody’s attention, and that can make it associated with the product or business itself.
Now, the question is how can a designer make such logo featuring the name of a person?
When designing a logo for our client who will be using his name(s) as the logo, first thing that SleekLogos designers consider is the person’s gender and his profession as well. The gender is important to consider for the logo design to determine whether it should convey features about femininity or masculinity. Though sometimes, the gender is only second in consideration, because the client’s profession along with his requests are more important.
In every logo design that SleekLogos designers do, simple and minimal kind of style is what we think the best suited design. There are times that artistic graphic icons, or clip art-like graphics will not be used. The person’s initials with his whole name in simple font can make a logo. What is really needed is to make the initials stand out. On some occasions, designers create the logo with just the initials of the person enclosed on a graphical icon (like the third example below).
In conceptualizing a logo design, SleekLogos observes different aspects to be able to have a simple yet elegant-looking logo. Important considerations are given and applied to texts, colors, graphics, edges, content, and the combination of these attributes. Below are some of the logos proudly designed by SleekLogos:
